Become an Organ Donor & Save Lives

Over 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for an organ transplant. Giving one's organs to others in need helps many people. Donating organs and tissue after death can help save or enhance the lives of up to seventy-five others. Numerous bereaved families have found solace in learning how their loved one's actions facilitated the saving or betterment of other people's lives.

If you are a member of a minority group, it is even more crucial that you think about signing up to be an organ donor. Certain chronic illnesses affecting the kidneys, heart, lungs, pancreas, and liver are more common among minorities, such as African Americans, Asians and Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, and Hispanics, than they are among whites. Racial and ethnic minorities tend to have higher concentrations of certain blood types. The demand for organs from people of color is disproportionately high due to the necessity of a compatible blood type for transplants.

Below are great ways to receive information and/or also become donor's.
